“Corazón apasionado ”,Venevision Productions´latest telenovela, makes its world premiere in Chile


(Miami, November 3, 2011)– Venevision International, a global entertainment company of the Cisneros Group of Companies, announced the world premiere of Venevision Productions’ most recent telenovela “Corazon Apasionado” [Passions of the Heart], starring the stunning Marlene Favela and the internationally-acclaimed leading man Guy Ecker. The debut of this captivating novela, written by Alberto Gomez, is slated for this coming Monday, November 7th, on channel Chilevision in Chile.

“The Venevision Productions team is working diligently to complete the first episodes of this new production, which was a big hit among our international clientele during the recent convention MIPCOM 2011,” stated Cesar Diaz, Vice President of Sales of Venevision International. “What’s more, we are finalizing deals in multiple markets in order to offer fans of the classic novela about love and perseverance the chance to enjoy this magnificent production throughout Latin America.”

In addition to its debut in Chile, “Corazon Apasionado” has already been acquired in more than a dozen countries, such as Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Russia, Lithuania, Colombia, Venezuela, Dominican Republic and Ecuador, among others. This production marks a sort of homecoming for the beautiful and celebrated Mexican actress Marlene Favela, who returns to Venevision 10 years after she catapulted to international fame with the highly-successful telenovela “Gata Salvaje” [Wild Cat].

Recorded in High Definition (HD) in Miami, Florida (USA), “Passions of the Heart” is produced by Venevision Productions, the largest independent producer of Spanish-language programming in the United States. As part of the Cisneros Group of Companies, Venevision Productions’ highly-acclaimed productions are broadcasted in the United States exclusively by the Univision Communications Inc. television networks, and commercialized around the world by Venevision International, which distributes television programming to more than 104 countries and in more than 20 languages.

This original story by Alberto Gomez chronicles the life of Patricia (Marlene Favela), a young and beautiful girl who is completely in-love with her boyfriend Marcos Perez (Jose Guillermo Cortines). But it is a clandestine love since her stern grandmother, Doña Ursula (Susana Dosamantes), would never accept that fact that her favorite granddaughter is infatuated with a mere worker at the hacienda she manages with an iron hand. The young loving couple attempts to escape unaware that Patricia’s father, Bruno Montesinos (Marcelo Buquet), plans to sell her to cover a gambling debt. On a fateful night, events unfold that affect them all: Marcos is badly wounded trying to save his beloved, while Bruno is imprisoned for his actions.

Two years later, Patricia, having given up on love and dedicated to her work, takes the reins of the ranch ‘La Generala’ along with his grandmother, Doña Ursula. Unexpectedly, Armando Marcano (Guy Ecker), son of a domestic employee of the hacienda, arrives at the ranch; an agricultural engineer, he fast becomes foreman. Immediately, there are clashes between Patricia and Armando; and among the quarrels and emotional confrontations emerges the flame of an uncontrollable love that strikes them with great force. Also arriving at the ranch is Fedora (Jessica Mas), a cousin of Patricia who turns out to be Armando’s former lover, and the rivalry between the two women for the love of the same man ignites the souls of these three characters.

Patricia and Armando struggle and face a thousand obstacles in search for the joy they so longed for; and when everything seems to indicate that nothing, nor anyone else, can no longer come between them, a ghost from the past returns, someone forgotten who comes to claim what is his. Before them appears Marcos Perez, who everyone, including Patricia, believed to be dead. Now, all the cards are on the table and the future of Patricia and Armando becomes uncertain, gloomy. Only the power of love can save them now.

Qué envidia que nos da, pero es cierto.

El esperado regreso a las telenovelas de la linda Marlene Favela junto al galanazo Guy Ecker, en 'Corazón Apasionado' se verá en Chile, antes de cualquier otro país, incluyendo Estados Unidos.

Venevision, la productora, anunció que el debut de esta historia, escrita por Alberto Gómez, será este próximo lunes, 7 de noviembre, por el canal Chilevisión en Chile.

Además de su gran estreno en en ese país suramericano, “Corazón Apasionado” ya ha sido adquirida en más de una docena de países como Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Rusia, Lituania, Colombia, Venezuela, República Dominicana y Ecuador, por mencionar algunos.
